Mogok, which is also known as Ruby Land, produces many world's famous gemstones especially Rubies and Sapphires.
It is 120 miles Northeast from Mandalay and situated over 3,800 ft above the sea level. There is a big lake at the centre of the town.
That Lake was an old mine which was mined during colonial era. The mountain ranges around Mogok are really beautiful and gemstones are also found from some parts of them. Mogok Gems-Bearing area is about 2000 sq. miles. The Landscape of Mogok is really cool and you are recommended to visit there if you have a chance. We are sure you will be amazed.
